Plumber in Preston

Need a plumber in Preston? Complete Electrical & Plumbing Services is based in Warton, and covers Preston plus the surrounding Lancashire towns. We handle domestic homes and light commercial premises including shops, offices, workshops and rentals - and we are on call 24/7 for emergency leaks, call-outs and regular work.

Plumbing work we do in Preston

The call is usually simple. Something is leaking, something will not drain, or a room is being rebuilt and the pipework has to be right before the tiles go on. We do that work in houses, rentals and light commercial premises, and we bring the electrical side with us when the job needs it.

  • Leak tracing and repair on pipes, joints, tanks and appliances
  • Bathrooms: showers, baths, basins, toilets and the wastes that serve them
  • Kitchen plumbing, taps, dishwashers and the pipework behind a refit
  • Cylinders, cold tanks and the valves around them
  • Blocked wastes and the day-to-day repairs that keep a house usable
  • Light commercial pipework for shops, offices, salons and workshops

Boilers and radiators sit on the heating page. Boards, showers circuits and fans sit on the electrician in Preston page. If your job is both, you only need this number.

Leaks, and what to do first

Find the stop tap if you can. In a lot of Preston houses it is under the kitchen sink, in a meter box outside, or where the supply comes through the floor. Turning it off limits the damage while you wait. If the leak is on the heating circuit rather than the cold main, the stop tap will not stop it. Tell us which one you have tried.

If water is reaching a light, a socket or the consumer unit, treat it as urgent. Do not switch things on to "see if they still work". Isolate the electricity if you can do that safely, then call 07869 600553. We would rather attend once, for the water and the electrics, than have two firms miss each other.

A slow weep under a bath or a dripping gland on a valve can be booked. Send a photo. A ceiling that is bulging cannot. Say which it is and we will match the response.

Bathrooms, kitchens and rented houses

A bathroom is plumbing, electrics and sometimes heating, in one room. The shower needs a supply and a waste. The lights and the fan need a circuit that is fit for a wet room. The board in the hall needs to be able to take that circuit. Doing the pipework and then discovering the electrics a week later is how these jobs drag on.

Kitchens are similar. A new tap is small. A new kitchen layout moves the sink, the dishwasher and sometimes the washing machine, and it often moves sockets at the same time. Tell us the whole plan.

In rented terraces and flats the person who rings might be the tenant and the person who approves the work might be the agent. We can talk to both. If an electrical report is due as well as a leaking valve, mention it. The EICR page explains that visit.

The buildings we work on

Victorian terraces in Preston hide pipe runs in boxed-in corners and under floors that have been layered for a century. A leak upstairs becomes a stain two rooms away. Access is the job, as much as the joint. 1930s semis are often kinder, until a later extension has buried the original route.

Newer houses around Warton and the PR4 estates usually fail at a valve, a push-fit joint or an appliance, not in a maze of old lead. We still look before we quote a big repair. A lot of "the pipe has burst" calls are a failed flexi, a tired waste or a cylinder valve, and they do not need the floor up.

Shops and workshops need the water off without closing the place for longer than necessary. Tell us when the toilets or the kitchen can actually be isolated.

What you are left with

The leak stopped, or the new pipework tested and left tidy. If we had to open a panel or a section of boxing, we will tell you what was opened and what still needs a joiner or a decorator. We do not disappear and leave a ceiling down without saying so.

If the visit shows a bigger issue, a cylinder that is finished, a shower that needs its own circuit, a board that will not take the bathroom, you get that explained before extra work starts. Heating systems that need more than a plumbing repair are picked up on the heating page.

Call, text or WhatsApp with the address. Day or night if it cannot wait. Booked if it can.

FAQs

Plumber in Preston: common questions

Do you cover the whole of Preston?
Preston is part of the normal round, along with Warton, Freckleton, Kirkham, Lytham, Penwortham, Fulwood, Leyland, the Fylde and South Ribble. The base is Warton, PR4. If you are further out, send the town and we will say yes or no.
Can you come out at night for a leak?
Yes. Phone and WhatsApp are open 24/7. A leak that is coming through a ceiling, onto electrics, or that you cannot isolate, is a night job. A dripping tap that has done it for a fortnight can usually wait for a booked visit. If you are unsure, ring and describe it.
Do you only do plumbing?
No. Plumbing is the work on this page, but the same team does electrics, heating and renewable installs. A bathroom, a shower or a cylinder often needs both a plumber and an electrician. You can book that as one job instead of two companies.
Do you fit bathrooms and kitchens?
We do the plumbing for bathrooms and kitchens: taps, wastes, toilets, basins, showers and the pipework that feeds them. If the room also needs a new circuit, a fan or a consumer unit upgrade, that electrical work is in-house. Tell us the whole room, not just the tap.
What should I do if water is near the electrics?
Do not touch a wet fitting or a wet consumer unit. If you can reach the main water stop tap safely, turn the water off. If you can isolate the electrical circuit without standing in water, do that too. Then call us. Say that both water and electrics are involved so we come prepared.
Do you work on shops and small commercial units?
Yes. Staff toilets, tea points, small commercial kitchens and the pipework that feeds them. We plan the visit around when you can have the water off. Large industrial plant is a different question. Describe the job and we will tell you if it is ours.
Can you sort the heating as well?
Boilers, radiators, cylinders and controls are part of the same business. If the plumbing fault is really a heating fault, or it becomes one once we are there, we can take that on rather than hand you a second number. Heating work is described on our heating page.
How do I get a price?
Call, text or WhatsApp 07869 600553. A leaking joint can often be priced from a description and a photo. A bathroom, a cylinder change or anything that means opening floors is priced once we have seen it, or from enough photos to be honest.
